General Submission Information

We accept submissions all year round. We are slower with our response in the summer months.

Short Fiction

Send short stories no more than 8,000 words.  Please no genre fiction or works for children.  Send one story at a time, printed on 8 1/2 by 11 paper.  Include your current name, address, e-mail and phone number.  Also include a short cover letter, listing the story's title and detailing your connection to the HBCU community.   Send short fiction to:

Poetry

Creative Non-Fiction

Black and White Art

Send up to five photographs or illustrations, black and white only, please.  Send digital copies of the art on a CD-R to the address below or e-mail low-rest digital copies (will request high-res copies if selected for publication). Include your current name, address, e-mail and phone number.  Also include a short cover letter, listing the story's title and detailing your connection to the HBCU community.   Send art to:
